A 41- member volunteer Fire Department serves Hobart from two fire stations. The department owns two fire engines, two water tankers, a reel truck, an equipment truck, and a brush truck. An on-site 10,000 gallon storage tank is located at Fire Station No. 2; four other dry hydrant water sources are located throughout the village. Hobart is planning a third fire station jointly with Ashwaubenon and the Oneida Tribe. Mutual aid agreements with surrounding communitites provide added water and personnel to meet fire fighting requirements.
It is the policy of the Hobart Fire Department to provide and to operate with the highest possible levels of safety and health for all members. The prevention and reduction of accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses are goals of the Hobart Fire Department and shall be primary considerations at all times. This concern for safety and health applies to all members of the Hobart Fire Department and to any other persons who may be involved in Hobart Fire Department activities.
The Hobart Fire Department is always looking for volunteers. If anyone is interested in becoming a volunteer with the Hobart Fire Department, please contact Hobart Fire Chief Bob Van De Hey at 680-4041. |

The Hobart First Responders is a group of 10 dedicated citizens in the Village of Hobart who responds to all medical emergencies, car accidents, fires, and anywhere else the help is needed. The First Responders are employees of County Rescue Services and volunteer for the Village of Hobart.
We are trained First Responders, EMT's (Emergency Medical Technicians) and EMT-I (EMT's that are trained in starting IV's to give advanced medical treatment to patients) and are equipped with 3 Defibs units for village wide.
When an emergency first arises, there is a dual dispatch for County Rescue and the First Responders. Upon arrival, we radio the paramedics with the condition and any vital information to prepare them for the call.
County Rescue uses a helicopter called Eagle III for major trauma calls. The response time for the helicopter anywhere in Hobart is approximately 10 minutes or less from time of dispatch.
|
 |
The First Responders were started in 1987 when County Rescue Service recognized a need to have faster response time for the people of Hobart.
The First Responders are always accepting applications for new members if you are interested. Please contact the Village office at 869-1101 or Capt. Larry Ullmer at County Rescue at 469-9779 for more information. |
