Economic Profile

The Village of Hobart is located in Northeastern Wisconsin, bordering the west side of the City of Green Bay. The community consists of 33 square miles of wooded hillsides in the north and relatively flat terrain in the south. The over 5,700 Village residents have the highest median income of all municipalities within Brown County. The Village’s proximity to excellent transportation (highway system, airport, Port of Green Bay) and plentiful, developable land, position the community as an appealing target for future development.

Interstates and Highways

The Village of Hobart is bordered by WIS 29 to the north, is bisected by WIS 54 and 172, and is just a few minutes away from US 41/141. The Village includes 7 county trunk highways and many local streets.

 

Airport

Austin Straubel International Airport is located within the Villages of Hobart and Ashwaubenon. The majority of the Village is located within a designated Airport Zone. Commercial service is provided by six carriers. Charter and air cargo service is also available.

 

Waterway

The Port of Green Bay is located approximately 8 miles east of the Village of Hobart. The port is the westernmost port of Lake Michigan. The port offers the shortest, most direct route for shipments between the Midwest and the world.


Health

 

The Green Bay area is home to four regional medical centers – Aurora Bay Care Medical Center, Bellin, St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, and St. Vincent Hospital. Various health clinics are also operated by Aurora, Bay Care Health Systems, and Bellin Health Family Medical Centers.


Government Services

The Village of Hobart is governed by a Village President and four Trustees and is managed by an Administrator. The Village of Hobart is represented by Senator Cowles (State Senate District #2), Representative Nelson (State Assembly District #5), Congressman Kagen (8 th Congressional District), and U.S. Senators Russ Feingold and Herb Kohl.
