Business Incentives

Property & Land Acquisitions. The Village of Hobart currently owns 136 acres of agriculturally zoned land north of Sunlite Drive that is available for residential or commercial development. The Village also retains purchase rights for additional property located just south of Hwy 29 and north of Sunlite Dr. and has a first right of refusal and deed restrictions on the Thornberry Creek golf course. Interested parties should contact the Village for further information.

Revolving Loan Fund. The Brown County Economic Development Revolving Loan Fund provides reduced interest rate loans for business activities that will result in the creation or retention of jobs within Brown County. The Wisconsin Development Fund Revolving Loan Fund Procedures Manual (PDF 169KB)

State and Federal Grant and Loan Assistance. The Village will provide assistance in locating and obtaining federal and state grants or loans for residential or commercial development projects.

Free Trade Zone. The Austin Straubel International Airport property is designated as a foreign trade zone. Foreign Trade Zone benefits include the ability to store inventory duty-free until shipped and store quota-restricted goods until quota opens, etc. More information on foreign trade zone services and benefits is available through the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Accelerated Depreciation. Qualified property placed in service on an Indian reservation after 1993 and before 2008 benefits from shorter recovery periods as indicated below. The Village of Hobart is located entirely within the Oneida Indian reservation.
